Bodies at rest, in motion

Physical laws we know cannot be broken - such as, a body at rest will stay at rest until met by opposing resistance. A moving object will continue to move until met by opposing resistance. The natural inclination, or instinct, of people is to take the path of least resistance.

But sometimes - that path IS the resistance.

From going through the whole fix-the-house-and-sell-it experience I have learned this - have a goal. If you have no motivation, you will fall into the path of least resistance. To break through - one must be the resisting force against oneself. There is a shelf life on selling a house, much like a food expiration date. The longer the house sits on a market the less valuable it becomes. It's not a baseball card or antique, it is a commodity VERY dependent on the market around it - and subject to the demands of that market regardless of any perceived value or investment.

The motivation to achieve the goal is the momentum that will make or break you. Lose sight of that and you will fail. Fall back into least resistance and you will fail.

The path of least resistance IS the resistance.

Addendum - 'There is no unified opinion in the outside world' - my FB post from earlier in the day from producer Steve Albini -  What does it mean? He was originally referring to studio recording - what matters to the people MAKING the record sound good is all that matters. If the critics REALLY cared, they'd be helping to make the record. What MATTERS in life is how YOU deal with it-make it-and treat those you love around you. Nothing else matters. You change the world by not trying to change the 'world.' Just yours.

HA!

Clarity

Today is the first day I have had nothing on the calendar. The dogs are fed and the boxes are packed. We are moving to 3365 N Russett in the Mock Crest neighborhood.
